Ecolab was named to the China Entrepreneur Club (CEC) list of China's Top 100 Green Companies, ranking 15 out of 30 foreign-owned enterprises that made the list. The CEC assesses companies annually based on economic, social and environmental factors, as well as innovation and transparency.
“Every day, we help our customers create positive economic benefits while reducing negative impact on the environment,” said Tim Wang, senior vice president and general manager of Ecolab Greater China. “We are honored by this recognition and will continue to utilize our expertise and innovative technology to help promote sustainability in China.”
Ecolab entered the Hong Kong market in 1975 and established a manufacturing plant in Shanghai in 1987. Today, Ecolab serves a variety of markets within China including, food and beverage processing, foodservice, hospitality, healthcare, pulp and paper, energy, water, and light and heavy industries. The company considers the economic, social and environmental impacts of its products and services to help deliver sustainable results for customers and improve its own operations.
The selection of China's Top 100 Green Companies was initiated by the CEC and organized by Daonong Centre for Enterprises and Green Herald Magazine. The CEC was created in 2006, and is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship alongside the sustainable development of the economy and society.
